We are delighted to announce the residents of the Tamyr Art Lab × Bulbul Art Residence programme in Kyrgyzstan.
Following an open call, the teams of Tamyr Art Lab and Bulbul Art Residence jointly selected three participating artists from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
We received many strong applications, so when selecting the participants, we focused not only on the quality and themes of their individual artistic and professional practices. It was also important to assemble a group where diverse artistic experiences, approaches, and interests could complement one another, and where the residency serves as a foundation for long-term professional collaboration among participants well after the programme concludes.

Tamyr Art Lab × BulBul Art Residence 2026 Residents:
Tajikistan
Zarrin Sanvar
A multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker from Tajikistan, working with photography, video, performance, and installation. In her artistic practice, she explores memory, identity, and inner human states, as well as changes in the urban and social environment, combining a documentary approach with experimental form. Her artworks and projects have been presented at international festivals, exhibitions, and art residencies in Central Asia and beyond.
Uzbekistan
Rusudan Mirobzalova
A visual artist from Uzbekistan working in photography and cinema, including documentary, experimental, and fiction film. In her practice, she explores the intersections of personal identity and collective memory in the context of ethnic minorities of Central Asia, as well as addresses topics such as time, its passage, and the visual embodiment of thoughts and inner states. Through her experimentation with various photographic and cinematic approaches, she approaches the image as a way of working with individual and collective experience.
Kazakhstan
Zhanar Kair
A curator from Kazakhstan and the founder of the 1.5 IDEA gallery in Astana. Her practice addresses topics such as feminism, social satire, corporeality, heritage, and collective trauma. Her projects explore personal and cultural archetypes, societal narratives, and social norms. She graduated from the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, specialising in costume design.
