We are delighted to announce the participants of the Inaugural Edition of the Tamyr Art Lab Scholarship program.
Based on the selection results, the independent Advisory Board has chosen eight artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Over the next four months, the participants will undergo an educational program, take part in a research expedition to Kadamjay (Kyrgyzstan), and work with curators and mentors. Each of the participants will receive a scholarship of $3000. The program will culminate in an exhibition of new art projects, which will open in Almaty (Kazakhstan) in November 2026.

Kazakhstan

Arıwjan Qaltay
A researcher and artist from Taraz/Astana. She works at the intersection of media art, artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, and computer networks, utilizing live coding, photography, and performative programming.

Savage Qyz
A multidisciplinary artist from Almaty. She works with performance, installation, video, and objects, reimagining ancient Turkic cosmologies through archival research and contemporary artistic language.
Kyrgyzstan

Meder Erkinbek uulu
An artist from Bishkek and one of the co-founders of the Zhiynak initiative. He works with painting and develops collective artistic practices.

Darika Bakeeva
An artist from Bishkek. She works predominantly with figurative painting, exploring memory, embodiment, everyday life, and cultural representations.
Tajikistan

Husnoro Juraeva
A multimedia artist from Dushanbe. In her practice, she addresses the themes of memory, time, and personal history, working with archival images, found objects, painting, collage, photography, and installation.

Amir Kholmatov
An artist from Shaydon. He works with graphics, painting, and installation, shaping his artistic practice at the intersection of self-education, academic drawing, and an experimental approach.
Uzbekistan

Mariyam Gadjimuradova
A multidisciplinary artist from Tashkent. She works with animation, mixed media, and other artistic practices, exploring the possibilities of various mediums and developing her own signature projects.

Vetlina Burmistrova
An artist and sculptor from Tashkent. She works with metal and recycled materials, exploring the themes of ecology, memory, cultural identity, and human relationships with the environment.
